Hello Yetis! This is my penultimate post - weather permitting we can all make it in tomozza! But if not, this will be my last post as a 10 Yetis intern, so I just want to say a huge thank you to them for allowing me to update their blog :)!
But anyway here are today's good and bad PR examples, enjoy...
Well today appears to be a gloomy day, and we’re not just talking about the weather. The papers are filled to the brim with sad tales and dismal predictions, but there is some good news elsewhere in the EU (for once). Yep – it’s a good news day for Ukraine, as the country welcomes the arrival of two rare cubs!
The duo of rare Siberian tiger cubs are getting plenty of attention at a zoo in southern Ukraine. Delighted staff at Yalta Zoo, are celebrating the new arrival of the baby Amur tigers, a species that were recently under threat of extinction.
There are only a few hundred tigers left in the world due to years of heavy poaching and loss of habitats L. But Yalta zoo has the world’s largest collection of Amur tigers and is doing its best to reverse the decline.
Aww they are sooo cute! Let’s hope they are just the first of many Amur tigers to come; congrats to Ukraine!
Last night’s announcement that the Lottery is doubling the price of a ticket was all a bit two much! (pun intended) The shake-up, the first inflation since they launched in 1994, is likely to see Saturday’s jackpot rocket from £1m to £5m as they increase the price of a ticket to £2.
Winnings from matching three balls will swell from £10 to £25, but the prize for predicting the numbers will plummet by £500 to £1000. And if you were ever lucky enough to match all five balls plus the bonus ball, you will see your winnings half to just £50,000 (well, we say "just" but we wouldn’t turn it down!).
The move is set to take place this autumn and have been heavily unpopular with the public. Thousands took to Twitter to complain about the price hike and more than 1,000 angry players have vented their fury on Facebook – eek!! Not a good day for the Lotto giants.
