10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations- Friday 30th March

Mar 30th 2012

Hello All! And welcome to today's Good and Bad PR. Today's edition features panda poo and BlackBerrys (That sounds incredible! I hear you cry) Hope you have a good weekend!

Good PR
Because I love pandas, and I because I live for tea, I am combining their forces for today's good PR- Panda Poo Tea! (note how I didn't mention poo in the first part. I'm not an animal)

Panda Poo Tea, launched by a Chinese businessman, has now gone on sale in China; and is harvested using the finest panda crap (or 'fertiliser' as it's more attractively referred to as) to give it that certain je ne sais quoi. An Yanshi, creator of the panda poo tea, has packed the poo around his tea crops to make a luxury brew; a brew that costs a whopping £131 per cuppa.

Pricey- but excellent for PR, and the tea has seen some nice coverage in the Metro today. Let's hope it doesn't literally taste like sh*t (ONLY JOKING I'M SURE IT'S DELICIOUS).

Bad PR
Poor old BlackBerry. After a very rough past year (everyone remember the email-gate of 2011?) it seems they still haven't managed to pick themselves up again, as reports out today have shown they suffered a $125 million loss.

RIM (Research in Motion), BlackBerry's makers, have announced today that they will be more or less stopping focus on the consumer market to focus on businesses; what they believe to be their chief market as businesses like the 'security' the handsets offer. Following several CEO resignations, it's not been a great year for BlackBerry, with the latest announcements a further hit of Bad PR.
