10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Wednesday 18th of April 2012

Apr 18th 2012

Good PR:

As a whole, fast food is getting a pretty bad rep lately, not really to any surprise as the World is getting fatter. However, today's example of good PR comes from one of the World's leading fast food restaurants - Burger King.

Burger King, much like many fast food restaurants, offers a variety of 'healthy salads' as opposed to just calorific burgers and fries. To emphasise the healthier options, Burger King have launched a new advertising campaign with Salma Hayek ordering salads under three different personalities.

PR Agency

It is safe to say that the campaign with Salma Hayek has landed Burger King a fair few column inches all of which are pretty positive. Gotta hand it to Burger King, it has generated positive coverage whilst currently in a pretty negative industry.

Bad PR:

I am happy to give Tesco bad PR today (just because I have often given Texco good PR) after reading articles that have revealed Tesco has to cut plans to open new stores by more than a third, though it is planning to double the number of outlets that allow customers to collect online purchases.

Apparently, investors are concerned about Tesco's first profit warning in two decades, after weak UK trading; to spite a pre-tax profit of £3.84bn. The chief exec of Tesco is speaking out about the reports and claiming that Tesco is not struggling, but it has to make you think. Tesco are cutting stores rather than expanding - it must be bad times.
