10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations- Friday 23rd April 2012

Apr 23rd 2012

Happy Monday All! Today's Good and Bad PR examples below..

Good PR
Victoria Beckham has been getting a lot of press attention today, after helping to design a new limited edition Range Rover Evoque.

The new model was unveiled in Beijing, China at the weekend, where Posh Spice was present as the 'guest creative designer'. Speaking about the 4 x4, Mrs Beckham said:

"I want everyone who gets into this car to feel special and empowered by its quality and craftsmanship. I like that it feels luxurious but also has quite a classic edge to it as well as a contemporary feel."

Now, she might have had a spell of bad PR after posing for a picture in a crew-only seat on a Cathay Pacific flight back from Hong Kong, but this influx of positive media coverage for her contributions to the new Range Rover seems to have far outweighed that.

On top of her contributions to the design of the new model, Victoria Beckham has also featured in the advertising campaign for the designer Evoque.

Jeans, handbags, books, jewellery and now a car... what will she design next?

Bad PR
Today's Bad PR goes to hit BBC show The Voice- now, I know what you're thinking, how can a show that seems to be quelling all other talent shows with its big reality TV thumb get Bad PR? Well, today it has received some bad press courtesy of rival show Britain's Got Talent, who have accused the show's producers of 'dirty tricks' in the ratings war.

ITV has accused BBC bosses of pulling 'dirty tricks' to beat Britain's Got Talent in the ratings, as although the two shows are on consecutively, the pre-recorded episode of The Voice ran over-time by three minutes on Saturday night- eating into Britain's Got Talent's 8:30pm slot.

This meant they BGT started with an audience of 5.7 million viewers- jumping up to 9.9million viewers when The Voice ended. "Dirty tricks" or just accidental? Who knows, but the heat has certainly been turned up in the ratings battles.
