10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations - Tuesday 24th April 2012

Good PR

Good PR today goes to Lego, as it has been announced that the teeny, tiny, yellow men are set to star in their very own motion picture. Following the success of the likes of Transformers and Battleship, Warner Bros have announced a 3D animation to be released on 28 February 2014.

The plot details are yet to be release, but apparently the film will star some classic characters from Lego history. No names spring immediately to mind, but I'm sure all will become clear.

This is obviously some great PR for Lego and I can imagine that a lot of Lego fans will be feeling particularly excited about the up and coming movie.

Bad PR

Had a bit of LOL today when I read this, I instantly knew that it was going to be my example of bad PR. Aviva accidently 'sacked' 1,300 members of staff by email, yep...sacked 1,300 members of staff accidently.

The HR department were sending a 'goodbye' email to a member of staff on their last day at the company, thanking them and wishing them all the best for the future; rather than sending to one, they hit send to all.

No need to panic, they recalled the email and assured the staff that their jobs were safe. Pretty funny though, right?
