10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations - Thursday 26th April 2012

Good PR

Although I'm known in the 10 Yetis office for being a fairly bad vegetarian (almost all incidents of meat eating are accidental) animal welfare and all that jazz is fairly close to my heart. So, today I'm giving the nod for good PR to Burger King.

The Miami-based fast food giant has said that all of its eggs and pork will come from cage-free pigs and hens by the year 2017, which will contribute toward the more humane treatment of animals. Currently, hundreds of millions of eggs and tens of millions of pounds of pork are used by Burger King annually, so although the change won't take place for a few years, it's a step in the right direction.

A happy chicken...

Bad PR

Whilst we all expect the rich and famous to lead lives of luxury and never get caught slumming it, 25 year-old singer Ke$ha may be the exception... out of choice. She tweeted a picture of herself squatting down to have a wee by a Californian roadside and shared it with her 3.1 million followers, posting "pee pee on the street. PoPo come n get me if u can find meeee. I blame traffic."

If caught, she could have faced a £170 fine, but she didn't seem to be concerned about losing her cash... or her dignity for that matter.

Allegedly, it's not the first time she's been inappropriate, after it's thought she met Lily Allen 2 years ago when they were both peeing in sinks at the Brit Awards. As you do.
