10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Wednesday 20th of June 2012

Good PR

Let's go England, let's go! Today's *cough* great PR example has to go to the wonderful Wayne Ronney as after his performance last night he has easily dominated today's headlines.

In case you were under a rock last night and this morning, I will give a brief outline as to why this is my example of today's good PR. Last night England played Ukraine in the final leg of the groups for Euro 2012, in order to qualify England only needed a draw but Wayne Ronney managed to score the only goal of the match making England finish top of their group.

The nationals are loving the England win today and as a result Ronney is topping the agenda.

Bad PR

Jimmy Carr is used to being on the receiving end of some pretty negative press, though this is normally down to a controversial joke he has deliberately told in order to generate media attention. Today, however, is a different kettle of fish.

Reports today are slating the comedian for 'not paying tax' as he reportedly protects approximately £3.3 million a year by channelling money through a company in Jersey - which is perfectly legal, if somewhat crafty.

Although Jimmy Carr is on the receiving end of some pretty bad PR, I can't help but think he won't care; he has said that he pays taxes but just what he has to and not a 'penny more'.
