10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Wednesday 8th August 2012

Aug 8th 2012

Good PR:

All hail the Google! The Google self-driving car has managed to drive 300,000 miles without encountering one single accident! According to news reports, the cars have driven in a variety of traffic conditions and clocked-up the equivalent of 12 round-the-World trips!

It goes without saying that this story has generated a tone of positive media attention. bing may have a snazzy ad campaign, but they are yet to create a self-driving car! Fair play Google!

Bad PR:

If you are already a nervous flyer, I would suggest you turn away now and don't read this example of bad PR.

Whilst enjoying a flight on Alaska Airlines, a passenger was sat in the window seat (which in itself was probably a rock-paper-scissors situation with their partner) and causally looked out to take in the view. This is when they spotted a note on a broken wing reading 'we know about this'.

Public Relations

Yikes! Pretty bad, right? Apparently this isn't the companies 'procedure' and the message was immediately removed.
