10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations - Tuesday 14th of August

Aug 14th 2012

Morning, Alexa here; how're ya'll doin'? Lets get the ball rolling with some good and bad PR this Tuesday.

Bad PR

Oh, this is a good'un. Bad PR goes to Lady Gaga today as the press are up in arms for her defence of wearing real fur coats. What makes it worse is that she is reported to have said she "hated fur" in previous interviews. The hypocrisy, coupled with her clarification that one particular coat was Hermes over Twitter, has left the press baffled - usually Gaga is pretty clean on this type of thing. PETA reportedly wrote a letter begging her not to wear fur 'cause the same "arrogance and indifference" to animal suffering can be aligned to the ignorance behind homophobia. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Good PR

Good PR goes to Pippa Middleton today who has been praised by the press for her indifference towards Karl Lagerfeld's stupid comments about "not liking her face". The Chanel designer apparently expressed a distaste for Pippa's facial features in lieu of recent media coverage at Wimbledon and the Olympics. As if she cares - the Royal sister was papped in a delightful dress and looks cool as ever. The media will not hesitate to defend a national treasure after all the patriotic furore of London 2012, so those Yanks better watch their mouths.
