10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad Public Relations - Friday 17th of August
Alexa here for this Friday's good and bad PR. LET'S DO THIS.
BAM. Good PR goes to H&M 'cause the press reported a massive erection in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Allow me to clarify.
A statue of David Beckham - giant, silver, naked - was erected in various US locations to showcase the footballer's new underwear range for H&M. It suggests to consumers that you too can be large and silver if you buy his underwear. And if that isn't good PR, I don't know what is. I mean, it also acts as a noticeable landmark and branding image, but whatever.
I was alerted to this over DA TWITTER - bad PR goes to Fifty Shades of Grey 'cause it's been reported that old people like to get "sizzling sex" tips from it too. Nooooo! The enticing glamour of a super-rich, super-painful sexy lifestyle has been undermined. The majority of Fifty Shades readers - females between the ages of 18 and, like, 40 - don't want to be put in parallel to a grandmother.
