Gabrielle here, bringing you my Good and Bad PR for the day.
Good PR
Christine Bleakley looks set to join Adrian Chiles at GMTV after the BBC withdrew its offer to keep her on the show. The BBC made their final offer several weeks ago, making it clear that they would not get into a bidding war with any other channels, after Bleakley failed to come to a decision they withdrew their offer.
Bleakley was said to be torn between the show that she loved and working with Adrian. But it seems that the decision has now been made for her.
In my opinion, this is good PR for all four parties, Christine Bleakley has been propelled into the forefront, making her a household name over night, along with Adrian. And both ITV and BBC have gained some great exposure, the One Show and the new GMTV are bound to have gained more viewers as a result.
Bad PR
Katie Price (not the first time that Katie aka Jordan has been marked as our bad PR) is having her perfumes removed from the shelves in Superdrug after it was discovered that the workers in an Indian factory were working for far less than the minimum wage.
Sunday's Observer newspaper claimed that workers were being paid 26p an hour to make perfume bottles for Price's Stunning and Besotted fragrances.
A Superdrug spokeswoman said: "As a business, we have a robust ethical trading policy so that our customers can be confident that they are buying products that are made in an ethical way.
"Therefore we have taken the decision to remove Katie Price's fragrances from our shelves at this time while we conduct an investigation."
I'd like to think that any celebrity would ensure that all goods tied to their name were ethical, but obviously not everyone shares my views. If only they did...
