Good PR:
Thebabywebsite.com conducted a great poll that has landed them some pretty good coverage; as a result they are awarded with today’s good PR.
The research they conducted has a stab at dads, saying they are lazy and ignore all the housework that needs doing. According to their study, dads just get in from work and flop on the sofa (in fairness, don’t all men, even if they aren’t a dad?!).
Because Thebabywebsite.com target mothers more so than dads, this is great PR as it hits the nail right on the head for target market.
Bad PR:
Bad PR goes to retail giant Toys R us, the business has lost creditability thanks to Paul Hopes, a former employee who worked as an account manager in their head office. Paul Hopes is already serving a seven year sentence after steeling £2.4 million from Toys R us in just 29 months to feed his addiction of female escorts.
I am sure Toys R us thought this embarrassing story was behind them after the sentence was given, but today new news reports have revealed that Paul Hopes has to pay back some of the cash he stole or he will be sentenced to a further 10 years behind bars.
I imagine a fair amount of crisis PR is being undertaken in Toys R us HQ, but unfortunately you can’t hide the fact that for over two years they had an employee stealing cash and spending it on women and cars.
