Gloucestershire-based 10 Yetis PR Agency has been appointed by the team behind Squawka, a unique sports TV companion app that is soon to launch in the UK, to handle a launch and ongoing public relations campaign aimed at achieving specific objectives and sign-ups.

A soon-to-launch sports TV companion app that will be coming soon to the UK has appointed Gloucestershire-based 10 Yetis Public Relations, www.10Yetis.co.uk, to handle its UK launch to consumer, football and technology media and pre and post-launch PR activity.

Squawka, www.Squawka.com, is in the final stages of development and, once complete, will be a unique sports TV companion app that will be completely free to use, aimed initially at football fans. It will provide football fans with every playing statistic they could hope for, along with information and conversation all in one place; Twitter and Facebook integration will enable users to track the conversation surrounding football matches and players from different leagues all in one place, alongside team news, lines ups, live action and analysis, results and latest in-play odds.

Ahead of the launch of the Squawka app in June, which will tie in with the start of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championships, 10 Yetis will aim to raise awareness of the capabilities of the unique Squawka Player Ratings Algorithm that has been developed, which assigns scores to each football player on over 2 million possible in-game actions as soon as they happen.

The Squawka Player Ratings Algorithm also makes use of the dataset from Opta, the most comprehensive football database on the planet, in new and creative ways; bringing incredibly detailed player and team statistics, head to head info, heat maps and goal analysis to offer a user experience and pioneering content portfolio that is second to none.

Users of the Squawka app will also be able to join in on all the fun of match day banter, thanks to a custom built chat platform

10 Yetis will come up with creative ways to gain media attention for Squawka in the run-up to the app launch, subsequently driving sign-ups in the early stages. Following on from this, the agency will launch the app in June and continue with public relations activity throughout the year to meet specific sign-up objectives and targets.

A social media campaign has also been devised for Squawka by 10 Yetis’ sister company, www.ASocialMediaAgency.co.uk, which will aim to build a Squawka community on Twitter and Facebook in the run up to the app launch, during the launch and afterwards.

Sanjit Atwal, CEO of Squawka, had the following to say about appointing 10 Yetis;

personal PR

Having met with a number of agencies when considering who we should work with for the launch of Squawka, it was clear that 10 Yetis shared our passion, for both football and the magic behind the project. We really can’t wait to get started and see what results we can get.

Andy Barr, Managing Director and Head Yeti at 10 Yetis, added;

“It’s not often you get to be part of something so unique and, quite frankly, mind-blowing as Squawka is set to be. There is so much we can do from a PR point of view thanks to the funky Squawka Player Ratings Algorithm and the incredible statistics it can throw up, so ideas are thankfully easy to come by for this campaign. We’re delighted to be working with Squawka and are really looking forward to seeing what this year will bring!”
