Brits Seek Holidays Near X Factor’s Judges Houses
It would seem that recent episodes of X Factor have been influencing the holiday choices of Britons, as one of the UK’s leading online independent travel agencies has revealed an increase in searches for the various locations of the Judge’s houses since the shows aired.
Site statistics released by one of the UK’s leading online independent travel agencies have revealed that there has been an increase in searches for holidays to the destinations in which the X Factor Judges’ houses were based, since the airing of the shows.
Since the episodes of the Judge’s houses aired, www.sunshine.co.uk has seen a surge in searches for holidays to Mykonos in Greece, in which Tulisa Contostavlos held the final auditions for the group’s category. Searches for the other locations of the judge’s houses also increased following the shows.
According to the site statistics, searches for the Judge’s Houses destinations increased by the following amount following the airing of shows, when compared to the previous weekend.
Mykonos, Greece – 47%
Barcelona – 39%
Miami – 31%
Los Angeles – 22%
Tulisa’s villa in Mykonos seemed to attract the most interest from viewers, if the site statistics are in response to the X Factor episodes aired. Searches for holidays to Barcelona, where Louis Walsh and the Over 25’s category were based, also increased by almost two fifths when compared to the same time during the previous week.
Kelly Rowland’s Miami pad, where final auditions for the girls were held, also potentially caused Britons to want to holiday there, as sunshine.co.uk saw a 31% increase in searches since the shows aired when compared to the previous weekend. Gary Barlow’s LA dwelling, where the boys travelled to for their last auditions, received the least interest, but searches for holidays to Los Angeles still increased by 22%.
Chris Brown, co-founder of sunshine.co.uk, said the following:
“Around the time of the X Factor and particularly when the locations of the judge’s houses are revealed, it’s not uncommon for holidaymakers to flock to our site and look for holidays there. The production team certainly do a good job of making the locations of the judge’s houses look nice and glamorous, so it’s no surprise that the public take inspiration from that.
Mykonos in Greece is certainly a lovely place to holiday, but if people are booking in the hope they might be able to do a bit of celebrity spotting, Miami and LA are certainly the best bets there!
