Gloucestershire based artist and illustrator Jill Tovey is celebrating the launch of a new portfolio that showcases a number of her new pieces of work. Despite only being launched a few days ago several high profile national art and design websites have featured the new portfolio.
www.JillTovey.com displays a range of illustration and art, some of which has been used in national media such as Cosmopolitan Magazine along with being displayed at venues including the Proud Gallery in Camden, London.
Last week the new portfolio was selected from 30 other artists’ sites to be showcased as site of the day on www.DesignMeltdown.com.
Jill’s first year was spent concentrating entirely on developing her portfolio. Her work made the final round, along with famous artist Jon Burgerman in the Britvic Drench Art Awards. The award was judged by Christian Furr, the youngest artist to officially paint a portrait of the Queen, who labelled Jill’s work as iconic.
Jill has also had her work showcased at a "Street Art" exhibition in Brighton and the likes of DIGIT and Computer Art magazines.
Speaking about her new portfolio and its success so far Jill Tovey commented,
"I have tried to keep the new portfolio crisp, clear and simple and I was shocked, amazed and really pleased that less than a week after the new portfolio went live national design websites were not only featuring it but also picking it as a website of the day".
She continued, "2007 was a whirlwind year with loads of new work being commissioned and so far 2008 is proving to be just as exciting."
Jill is commissioned to do work for companies of all sizes as well as individuals and specialises in fashion related art and illustration.
