Young Entrepreneurs Mastermind Mcfly Follow Up

Jun 1st 2010

Young entrepreneur finalists have confirmed that pop princes' McFly will follow in the footsteps of Girls Aloud by playing at Oakwood theme park in Pembrokeshire.

Following the success of last year's Girls Aloud gig, a young pop promoting partnership have booked record breaking chart toppers McFly to wow the crowds at this summer's Oakwood Pop Park concert on July 19th.

The genius' behind Pop Park are Daily Mail Young Entrepreneur finalist's 19-year-old Aaron Kirkhouse and 20-year-old Alex Darlington. They masterminded the company behind Pop Park; Mint Gigs after they started organising gigs in their spare time when they were sixteen and still at school.

The dynamic duo have also teamed up with social networking site Bebo to help promote the event, bringing fans VIP tickets, ticket give-aways and exclusive McFly blogs and videos.

Since the Bebo site launched in January nearly 1,500 McFly fans have signed up as friends, sharing their excitement over the event and hoping to win a chance to meet the band.

Commenting on the partnership Alex Darlington said;

"There really hasn't been anything quite like this before; working with Bebo has enabled us to create an interactive pre-show experience for the millions who use the social networking site."

Pop Park is a unique concept which gives gig goers the chance to see top UK artists in the concert and go on all the rides at the theme park at the same time. It has now been established as an annual event, being dubbed as ‘Pop in the park' and is aiming to attract up to 7,500 people, putting Pembrokeshire firmly on the music map.

Aaron Kirkhouse said of the event;

"Last year we did the show with Girls Aloud and it was an amazing success, to have McFly this year is really exciting and it's going to be even bigger."

McFly have had thirteen top ten singles, seven of which have been number ones.

Tickets for Pop Park are on sale now and available at bebo.com/poppark.
