10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Monday 10th February 2020

Happy Monday! I am back again with another Good and Bad PR blog. So, let’s kick this off with a look at the best of PR from the past week.

Good PR

Name a rat after your Ex

Every year it seems like we have a stunt of this nature, with San Antonio Zoo stealing the show for 2020 after they announced their ‘name a rat after your ex’ stunt. If you are after some revenge on an ex-partner, then you can buy a ‘love rat’ for just £19.22. This has received coverage in a plethora of places including Tyla and countless publications across the pond.

Tracy Brabin and that dress

Tracy Brabin, who came under fire for the off-the-shoulder dress she wore in parliament, has beaten the internet trolls as she’s put the dress in question up for auction, with proceeds going to charity “Girl Guiding”. She received hateful, ridiculous comments from internet users for the ‘inappropriate outfit’ but she’s turned the preposterous situation into something amazing. After hitting back with a tweet, which said she can wear what she wants and there are more important things to focus on in parliament, she decided to auction the much talked about dress, with the winning bid current sitting at £17,200 and is continuing to climb."

Bad PR

Dressmezee malfunction

Courtney Henderson, from Newcastle ordered a dress for her birthday night out from DressMezee, only for it to arrive and for her to find out it was a little bit more revealing than she would’ve hoped. She bought the dress for £65, and I think it is fair to say that she will be sending this garment back as soon as possible! This has got coverage on the likes of the MailOnline and Mirror so it’s likely Dressmezee will want to do some damage control.

Dele Alli x Corona Virus

Dele Alli sent ‘racist videos’ to his friends on snapchat with him in a facemask. The caption sent with the video was “Corna whatttttt, please listen with volume.” He then turned the camera around and showed a picture of a Carex bottle with the caption “The virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me”. Finally, the Tottenham midfielder turned the camera onto an unsuspecting Asian man. This isn’t the greatest of ideas from Dele Alli and is the latest gaff in a fairly long line of mishaps from the footballer.
