10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Monday 13th March 2019

Hi guys, Charlie here ready to share some good and bad PR – I hope you enjoy my picks!

Good PR

Here in Gloucestershire all eyes are on Cheltenham with the festival currently in full swing. The festival brings many things to the county; drunken punters, racing enthusiasts and higher drinks prices. However, above all else it brings a great variety of PR stunts.

This post would not be complete without mentioning the GOAT, Paddy Power, who have unveiled a statue outside the entrance of Prestbury Park this year. The statue depicts a female jockey in a similar style to the “Fearless Girl” on Wall Street. Horse-racing is one of the only sports where male and female sportspeople can go head to head, and you will find the going hard when looking for a higher quality race meet than Cheltenham.

The message behind the statue is “Some jockeys have big balls, others are good jockeys”. Paddy Power have said this statue will form part of a wider campaign, that will celebrate gender equality in racing.

Paddy Power certainly haven’t disappointed with their stunt choice this year and we can’t wait to see what they have in store in 2020!

Bad PR

Away from the races, Conor McGregor has found himself in another spot of bother. He has been arrested *again* on Miami beach. He was arrested and charged with strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief. Again, the Irishmen find himself on the wrong side of the law as he tries to resurrect his faltering UFC career.

It is alleged that he grabbed a fan’s phone before throwing it on the ground and smashing it.

There hasn’t been much talk of who McGregor’s next opponent will be after his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, and with this latest spat he could wait a while longer until his next fight.
