10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Monday 15th October 2018

Good PR

We’ve all done it… sent a message to the wrong person, or even attempted some Dutch courage to send a message to someone, only to wish we could take it back. Some of you out there will be techy and know a thing or two about how to resolve this issue (where it can be done), but the majority of us are not that clued up.

Soon, you may not need to know your stuff when it comes to tech. It looks as though Facebook is trialling the option for you to ‘unsend’ messages after they’ve gone. Whilst handy, there are rumours that there’s going to be a set number of times you can do this per chat.

Whilst Facebook haven’t addressed the rumours, this has got many of us very excited (especially our social team – not because they often send messages they want to retract, but because they love a new feature!).

Bad PR

McDonalds are getting a pretty bad rap these days... they tried to charge a woman for a bottle of water after her daughter was throwing up following her chemotherapy. The water was gifted to the family by the cleaner, to which a member of staff then approached them to collect the payment. Most recently, the staff at a McDonalds in York refused to give any drinks to fire crews who were battling blazes at a nearby B&M without any liquids on hand. It should be common knowledge that firefighters don't carry cash. They work hard to save lives and buildings, and can't even get a cup of tea or coffee?! Thankfully some lady overheard them being refused in the store and took drinks to them.

A friend once said to me: "It's nice to be nice". That stuck with me.
