10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Monday 26th November 2018

We are at the point in the year where the decorations are brought down and the madness of Christmas shopping begins. This also means there is an overabundance of outrageous PR campaigns, so without wasting anymore time let’s get straight into the best and worst of PR from the past week.

Good PR

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the Royal Mail are celebrating by giving their post boxes a Christmas jingle, when you post a letter through it. Four of these Christmassy post boxes will be set up in London, Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh.

The post boxes are adorned with snowflakes and will play either sleigh bells or a short message from Santa Claus. They are in place until Christmas and will further contribute to the festive feel.

Another piece of PR I personally liked was from notjust.shop, they have released a line of Christmas jumpers with a slight twist.

One of their jumpers features a large image of the ultimate national treasure David Attenborough’s face, with the great pun, “Attenbrrrrrr” written below. This was released perfectly in time with his new programme Dynasties.

I for one love the jumper and may have been tempted to get one myself for the festive period.

Bad PR

The theatre is making its annual Michael Buble-esque seasonal comeback. The return has been slightly marred after bosses were found out for using child actors instead of paying the extra for dwarf actors; it is believed they are saving 50 per cent on weekly fees.

The audiences weren’t impressed, and critics were less than enthralled with the changes and thought that the Dwarfs were compulsory… After all, the clue is in the name - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
