10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Wednesday 24th October 2018

I may be a little late this week, you may have noticed that it's not Monday, but better late than never, eh? Enjoy this week's good and bad PR... it's a blinder.

God PR

Today's good PR is one that will make you chuckle and isn't off the back of a PR stunt or PR campaign. Nope, I'm giving good PR to the one and only David Schwimmer.

The police have an incredibly hard job to do and social media helps every now and then - particularly when they can share images of a suspect that they wish to speak to (there's always someone out there who knows the person in question and is willing to name names). In this instance though, the image of the offender looked like a a 'friend' of all of ours. The one and only Ross, aka David.

The comments on the post alone will keep you occupied for a good five to ten minutes.

It didn't take long for the post to go viral, so viral that it came to David's attention and he clearly found the whole situation amusing. To make the situation even better, today David responded with a little post of his own...

One more quicky in the good PR section... Vienetta have launched a big tub of chocolate and orange Vienetta ice cream for just £2. With Christmas just around the corner, maybe Terry's Chocolate Oranges finally have a contender in the field?! I'll have to buy some and report back. Oh, you can grab it from ASDA. But make sure you leave me one!

Bad PR

Ryanair have once again come under fire this week after a video emerged of an incredibly racist passenger throwing a torrent of abuse at a fellow passenger after they ended up sat in the same row as one another. I won't go into details on what was said or what happened as I'm sure you've all read about it and watched the video by now. It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch, made even worse by the cabin crew requesting the lady move seats. How about kicking the man off the flight instead of making the woman feel as though she was in the wrong, eh?!

All Ryanair have come out and said themselves is that they reported the incident to police in Essex and could comment no further. They're been criticised everywhere you look for their complete inaction throughout the whole situation - and rightly so.

Whilst Ryanair didn't kick the man off the flight or deal with the situation in the correct manner at all, a little bit of good PR here does go to Barcelona, where the flight left from. Barcelona City Council and the deputy mayor cited the man's abuse as "unacceptable" and have reported the man for possible hate crime (which it quite clearly was). Essex police have identified both parties involved and passed over all details to the Spanish authorities to deal with.

Let's hope some justice is served here and the man in question gets a punishment that matches his shocking behaviour.
