Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s Harriet here ready to give you this week's middle dose of good and bad PR. I hope you enjoy my picks :)
It’s award season again which is always an exciting time and kicking it off were the Golden Globes on Sunday, during which, musical feature film La La Land dominated. In fact, the feature film set a record breaking sweep on the night.
The film, which has also received amazing reviews, won all 7 of the awards it was nominated for, including best musical or comedy film, best screenplay and best original score.
The films two leads, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, also won in their acting categories; best actor and actress in a musical or comedy film respectively.
It is now predicted that the movie will be triumphing in all of the upcoming award ceremonies.
All I know is that I am so excited to see it!
Uber is getting my choice for bad PR today because when Londoners were in need for help the most from the company, they completely let them down.
The tube strikes, which happened on Monday, ruined many Londoners commutes which meant that many were resorting to using the bus, biking it or walking to their destination. Some Londoners though, decided to get an Uber, however this turned out to be a terrible idea as the company decided to rise prices to ridiculous amounts, just because they could.
This has led to journeys that would usually cost about £16 costing up to £75. Some customers were ever reporting that drivers were refusing to pick up passengers and take them to Heathrow as there was just too much demand in the city to miss up.
Users took to twitter to voice their complaints, stating that they thought the company was taking advantage of the reduced tube services.
