10 Yetis Helps PR Twitter Newbies 2.0 - Top 100 Journalists on Twitter 2012

Linkbait 2.0 you say? I say; fricking informative.

Those of you with memories better than mine will recall that in 2011 we carefully interrogated data from TheCrapps, cross-mined it against established and entirely credible social media metric measurement systems and then produced a Top 100 Journalists on Twitter List?

Well, it's back... refreshed, revised and raring to go.

A few bits of background info on how this list comes to be, and I have also put a short FAQ at the bottom...

The data comes from our very own The CRAPPs awards, specifically "The Least Twattish Twitterer" category where PRs are asked to nominate who their favourite journos are on Twitter.

Thanks to the DW Publishing Team for sponsoring the awards, thanks to Rich Leigh offa our team for managing them and last but not least, huge thanks to Shaun Houcke, also offa our team, for confirming/checking names, outlets, scores and alike.

As mentioned above, we then cross reference this against social media measurement tools to refine the rankings. Ultimately though, a judgement call has to made on the final ranking, so the shouting and any associated Twitter rage should be pointed in my direction (Andy).

Bottom line, I can try and dress this up as a credible piece of scientific research all I want, but the long and short of it is that it is basically a list of which journos the UK community of PRs like the most. Obviously, the nicer journos are to PRs, the higher up they are likely to appear.

Flawed? Yes. LinkBait? How Dare You. Fun? Definitely.

Q: Why are some of the more prolific tweeting journos lower than other low volume tweeting journos?
A: As I said, I accept it is more of a "Who Do PRs Like the Most" and as such the ranking will be skewed... I would guess that a journo who is nicer to PRs would rank higher cos we is a fickle bunch. That being said, there must be a flaw in my logic as Charles Arthur made the list :-) (recycled joke from last year, there is a recession on you know)
