Andy here, and today I am bringing you details of a massive piece of research that we have undertaken that answers the question: "How did Gangnam Style Go Viral?". There have been loads of articles on Psy's adventure, but nothing really looking behind the scenes.

We think we are the first digital agency to look at Gangnam Style's success in such depth. As such, and given this is being written so close to the campaign coming to an end, there are the usual caveats about it being an evolving project etc etc etc.

The bottom line, I thought the stats had been gamed, they hadn't. This was simply a fantasticly well co-ordinated campaign by YG Entertainment (Psy's South Korean record label) and Psy himself.

As well as the SlideShare.net presentation directly below, we have an interactive graphic (that you can embed on your blog) below and, at the bottom of this post, you will see a video we have produced that talks through how Gangnam Style went viral.

We also have a Viral Marketing white-paper that you can download, you can see that by clicking here.
