PR praise has to go to Cadbury's 'gorilla' tactics. Their hit TV advert featuring a gorilla drumming to the classic Phil Collins track 'In The Air Tonight' has been credited with helping to exceed sales expectations.
The primate has gained huge props for his percussion playing pulling power as Cadbury recovered its UK chocolate sales.
Although the world's largest confectionery maker saw profits fall by 2% in 2007, underlying confectionery sales rose 7%, the best for a decade.
All I can say about the ad is it may on paper have looked bizarre but the nation certainly got the taste for it......love it, Love It, LOVE IT!!!!
