10 Yetis Good and Bad PR - Tuesday 8th April 2008

Andy here...

Good PR
Great PR for the town of Iga Ueno in Japan. They hold an annual Ninja festival to raise awareness of their town and this year they have got buckets of good PR for some of their groovy ideas. The one I like the most is that anyone who dresses as a ninja gets free bus travel. If you have a look at SkyNews you will see some great images of young and old alike dressed as Ninja's on buses all over the place.

Bad PR
Tricky this as you can see both sides of the argument but the original UK company that designed and made the Stormtrooper outfits for the Star Wars films have always carried on making them and selling them to punters. Lucas Films argues that they should not be allowed to do this. The creative company says that no formal agreement was ever made and they should be allowed to carry on. Lucas Films has already been awarded £10m in compensation and the case now hits the High Court.
