10 Yetis Good PR and Bad PR - Thursday 8th May 2008

Today's Good PR and Bad PR is brought to you by new Yeti Emma...

Good PR
A big CONGRATULATIONS to our client Unltdworld.com, who today received confirmation that they came 1st out of 171 companies to win the European Web 2.0 StartUp competition! For those of you who don't know, it is a competition of Eurpoean 2.0 sites, whose objectives are to promote and reward the European startups that work in the field of 2.0 technology.

Awards are being held in Barcelona (not a bad place to 'have' to go!), where Unltdworld have the chance to win the European award! This truly reflects the hard work these guys put in, so fingers crossed for the finals!

Any excuse..!!

Bad PR
ITV has been fined a massive £5.68 million by Ofcom, for abusing premium rate phone services in viewer competitions. Despite this being an ongoing problem within the industry at the moment, this fine is said to be, by far, the highest ever imposed!

Three competitions on Ant or Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway were found to be in breach of the regulation codes. I, for one, am pleased I didn't phone Jiggy Bank too many times on Saturday!

Maybe they should stick to what they do best?!
