The tech and consumer media have been leaving little damp patches on their seats since yesterday's formal announcement about the Apple iPhone launch date.
Over in the USA the behamoth that is Apple started running iPhone ads at the weekend and this sparked speculation that the iPhone would be out soon. Apple then came out and confirmed that the must have gadget of the year will be out on June 29 and cost $500 (£250) or $600 (£300) for the 4gb and 8gb respectively.
Apparently the phone will run on AT&T network over in the USA and if people want to purchase them over there and bring them here they will have to take out a 2nd mortgage as they will only run on that network as no UK provider has been selected yet.
It is suggested that the iPhone won't come out in the UK until the end of 2007, in time for the Xmas rush.
Sadly, rumour has it that Apple is going to be using, in my mind, the worst phone provider here in the UK in T-Mobile, although this has not yet been confirmed.
Well... we will be at the front of the cue to get one (or Jilly will be at least) so we can't wait for them to hit the UK.
Below is some of the Apple iPhone adverts that started the pant wetting in the first place.
And here is a more detailed one from AT&T
