Well, I guess we were not the first to spot it but hey, allow a guy some cretive freedom!
Quite funny story if not a little scary when you think of its effect.
Apparently a late night cable network in Boston (USA) decided it needed a publicity stunt of sorts to promote its late night cartoon series called "Aqua Teen Hunger Force,'' a surreal series about a talking milkshake, a box of fries and a meatball... so I am told!
Several illuminated electronic devices were planted at bridges and other spots in Boston for the Cartoon Network and were reported by anxious members of the public who thought they looked suspicious.
Several bomb disposal units later (where the actual devices were exploded) the various bomb squads came to realise all was not how it seemed.
The people who commissioned Interference for the campaign
Turns out the marketing company behind the campaign, Interference planted the devices across the USA in Boston; New York; Los Angeles; Chicago; Atlanta; Seattle; Portland, Ore.; Austin, Texas; San Francisco; and Philadelphia.
Still, Cartoon Network is getting loads of PR from it, as is Interference... not all good though :-)
