Artes Mundi Prize 2008

Following the success of the exhibition and Prize in 2004 and 2006, Artes Mundi is now seeking nominations to shortlist for Artes Mundi 3 in 2008. At £40,000 the Prize is one of the largest to be awarded internationally to an individual artist.

Artists cannot nominate themselves so those knowledgeable in the contemporary visual arts are invited to put names forward. Nominated artists can be of any age, living or working anywhere in the world but should meet the following criteria:

- they should be artists who have achieved recognition for the quality of their work in their own country or sphere and are emerging internationally, and

- they should be artists who, in their work, discuss the human form or the
human condition and add to our understanding of humanity

The closing date for receiving nominations is February 28th 2007. To nominate an artist for the Artes Mundi Prize in 2008 a standard nomination form should be completed. This can be downloaded with further information from www.artesmundi.org or is available from;
