End of Plastic Bags in Devon – Will it sweep the UK?

And so, crazy summer story two.

A place in Modbury, Devon is this week banning plastic bags from its town. The towns 43 traders have all signed up to a scheme where they stop providing plastic bags and instead shoppers will get either a 100% biodegradable cornstarch bag, a paper bag or jute bags.

This is all down to one womans hard work, Rebecca Hoskins who is a wildlife cameraperson who was devastated by the impact plastic bags had on the wildlife when she went to Hawaii.

This is the bag shoppers can now get!

Suprisingly loads of big traders like Co-Op have signed up as well.

Nice.
