I'm fascinated by Japanese culture - they separated themselves from the rest of the world for a while and took on a really quirky identity that in the past few years has started to become really cool. It's top of my list of places to visit - I'd just need to brave the ridiculously long flight to get there. I'm not scared of flying, I just have the concentration span of a gnat and I think the 12 or something hours it takes to get there might be the end of me (and possibly Andy's nerves).
Anyway, check out this latest kind of marketing - Apex Corp, a vending machine company will be giving free drinks to people who are prepared to watch a 30 second advert. It's being introduced in vending machines across Japan in June.
