Large Company Buys Celeb Endorsement = global news?!

Beckham's PR machine is kicking in big time over in USA and that can be the only reason why he and Disney are getting so much exposure for what is essentially (dare I say it)... just an advert.

As the image above shows (couresty of Reuters and the Torygraph), Beckham is doing an advert for Disney to promote its USA theme parks... ok! So whay the big fuss in the media? Beyonce and Scarlett Johansson are doing them as well but apparently it is massive news... I just don't get it.

In the words of South Park's very own Jonny Cochrane, "It just does not make sense".

Big corporation needs to sell its product,
Big corporation has loads of money,
Big corporation hires celeb's for endorsement
Celebs do the work and corporation sells its product...

Nothing new there?
