Hawksley's

The Challenge

We were approached by NewEra Partnership to create the brand identity for their new Nottingham bar and lounge - Hawksley’s. The location of the bar would be inside one of their venues ‘Lakeside’ which is a converted Victorian pumping station.

The Solution

We wanted to create a visual identity which stayed true to the victorian architecture and high end feel that the venue would have. We researched Victorian lettering and typography and adapted this into a brand system that worked both traditionally, and also more digitally.

We created a more traditional logo mark which had a more decorative luxury feel, that could also be simplified for use on both a smaller scale and digitally. We wanted to bring this victorian style into the typography of the brand, but using a modern serif font, so that the traditional feel was present even when not using the logo.
