10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR - Monday 6th April 2020

We are in week two of quarantine and it has certainly been challenging at times however we are just one week away from a review, which will probably lead to another term in isolation, but let’s try and apply some optimism to the horrible goings on. I am here to bring you up to speed with some of the good PR from the past week to get your mind off the bleak news. There will be no mention of bad PR today, because nobody needs that right now.

Morrisons

We start with Morrisons who have opened some of their packaging sites for an extra hour a day in the hopes of donating £10m worth of food to foodbanks. This is an extremely difficult time for many, especially for those living closer to the breadline and this will certainly make a difference to many lives. Good job Morrisons; a gesture that will certainly be remembered for the months to come.

McDonalds (and other food chains)

One of the most painful parts of being in quarantine is not being able to eat at your favourite fast-food restaurants however many big name food joints have realised this and are trying to remedy the situation whilst they are closed. The wonderful people at McDonalds have released their recipes for fans to enjoy whilst they await the return of the Mac. Along with McDonalds, other restaurants like Burger King, Wagamama and Yo-Sushi have also followed suit by releasing their recipes to the masses.

Mark Jenkins and others

Mark Jenkins will be a name that doesn’t mean much to people who don’t watch football and to be honest it is also a name that would leave football fans scratching their head. For those of you who don’t know, he is West Bromwich Albion’s Chief Executive and he announced that he has taken a 100% pay cut whilst the lockdown continues. There are other people who have joined in with taking a pay cut within sport; Eddie Howe, Graham Potter and David Moyes just to name a few. It is uplifting to see the people at the helm of all of these Premier League clubs make monetary sacrifices to help their club through the pandemic.
