10 Yetis Examples of Good and Bad PR – Tuesday 10th December 2019

Happy 10th of December, Christmas is only two weeks and one day away and if that wasn’t exciting enough, I am here to bring you this week’s good and bad PR, let’s get straight into it…

Good PR

How many Greg’s can you fit into one paragraph I hear you ask? If you are blessed with the name Greg and can’t resist a Gregg’s sausage roll, then you’re in for a treat. Just Eat have decided to give one lucky Greg a year’s worth of Gregg deliveries, and by that, they mean they will deliver a free Gregg’s meal once a month for a year. The good thing is, your name doesn’t have to just be Greg, it can just have Greg in it, like McGregor for example. It’s great for those who have Greg in their name or even for those that might know a Greg. If you’re name isn’t Greg, you might want to think of changing it by deed poll. Does Greg sound weird to anyone now?

If you’re name isn’t Greg, but you work for the NHS, then Uber are here to save the day by offering free trips or Uber Eats to anyone with an NHS email. All NHS staff need to do is enter their official NHS email address when they visit www.uber.com/nhs and they can claim two free Uber trips or Uber Eats. Unfortunately, it looks like one or the other and not both, but they are expected to be in high demand so you have until 9am on the 20th December to sign up and claim!

Bad PR

This could be a mix of good and bad to be fair. Poundland have received a few mixed reviews with their latest advert for chocolate fingers. The advert features a lady with her mouth open and her hands on her head in what most people might interpret as her enjoying a pleasurable experience. Underneath is a box of Dairy Milk Fingers that are 20% extra free and in the text of their tweet they quote ‘For a friend who loves a good finger! Cadbury Fingers - £1’ It was put together by an ‘all female’ social team who clearly just wanted a laugh. However, some haven’t quite seen the funny side. The tweet was later deleted…

Christmas sees the return of the ugly Christmas jumpers, and Walmart thought it would be good idea to put one on the market that shows Father Christmas with three lines of white substance and the words ‘Let It Snow’. Obviously, this could be completely innocent, and Santa could just be rolling snowballs, but other people think differently and are accusing it of being the illegal substance Cocaine. Wallmart have pulled the sweater from any kind of sales and have since apologised. They’ll definitely be going on Santa’s naughty list!
